Lock up

After a slow start to the new year, our build is flying at a rapid rate.  Lock-up has been completed and we are just waiting for the Matrix to be put on the front of the house and render finished.

This is a small part of our facade that needed to have a different texture to the remainder of the house (as per the council regulations which I still do not understand)

Bricklaying upstairs, electrics roughed in and insulations

The insulation in the walls and ceiling have now been put in, ready for the pasterers to come.

The site looks like a miss as they are doing the last of the bricklaying on the upper story.

Electricals are now roughed in ready for the next stage.

The Bricklaying has started

After a very long wait our bricklayer has decided to start (Christmas break and good surfing conditions were the reasons for delay - but that is what you get for building in the Surf coast).

Land cleared

It's been a long time between posts.  It has taken a very long time to get our plans approved by the estate and council and also for the bank to finalise our finance.
On Monday our land was scraped and we are off and away on our build. We were in a unique position where PD was pushing us to start but the bank took seven weeks to approve our finance.  So as soon as it was approved and signed, they started.  Fingers crossed that the weather stays good and a slab will be poored on the 23rd of November.

Finance approved

After seven weeks of negotiation, the bank has finally allowed us to keep and rent our current house and start our build.
I think that this has been the most stressful stage but at least we are moving forward.
Porter Davis now can forward our file to the building stage.
